Baby Bunnies

We have a nest of two little baby bunnies in our backyard.  They are precious!  And the kids love them ... they must ask me 100 times a day "can we go check on the bunnies".  Gunner is the one who discovered them.  There was actually a third bunny ... but it met a not so happy end when Gunner stirred up the nest.  Poor bunny : (  This is actually our second set of baby bunnies.  Gunner found the first nest as well & sadly killed 5 of the 6 before we realized what was going on.  Why the mommy bunny keeps buidling nests so close to our dogs is beyond me.   Cade & I have done a little reading up on baby bunnies & we think these are about 3 weeks old.  We have been watching them for nearly two weeks now & their eyes just opened the other day.  They are now big enough to crawl out of there nest & hop around some.  Which makes our job of keeping them away from the dogs even harder.  But they always go back to there nest.  Apparently the mom bunny only comes around twice a day to feed them.  And as long as they aren't crying ... that's our signal that they are being fed.  So for now they are fun to watch.  Here are a few cute pics of our baby bunnies : )
