There is something so bittersweet about the first day of each new school year. On one hand ... I am so excited for them!! And on the other hand ... my heart aches. They are growing up so quickly!
Cade & Noelle both woke up bright & shiny (which has NOT been the norm this summer ... we have had lots of lazy mornings around here) with smiles on their faces ready to go. Cade was anxious to get to class & get started. It was no surprise at all that he is transitioning into 3rd grade so smoothly. Noelle, however, being on the shyer more reserved side, truly did surprise me. She didn't hesitate one bit to join the others in her classroom. She gave her new teacher, Mrs. Zimmerman, a big hug & let me leave with surprising ease. See ... growing up.
I can hardly wait for them to come home from school this afternoon & tell me all about their day!
